Hair extensions care – how to properly care for them?

Do hair extensions require special care?

In our opinion, all hair requires proper care, adapted to its type and structure – this way, you'll be able to enjoy a well-maintained hairstyle for many months. Keratin-bonded hair extensions cannot be treated the same way you did before the procedure. Why? Because this way, you can quickly lose the effect of our work – the hair will start to tangle, break, and fall out. And we don't wish that on any of our clients.

Hair extension care – washing hair

Before we get to the heart of the matter, we encourage you to visit our Care tab, where we provide rules for proper hair care. You'll also find more valuable tips on our YouTube channel.

Let's start with the most important thing – proper washing of hair extensions. After all, every hair needs to be washed, even extensions, especially natural ones. Wash your head in an upright position – do not lean over the bathtub. The water temperature doesn't matter here – use whatever you like. Once your head is wet, we move on to applying shampoo – apply a small amount to the scalp – there are no extensions here, so we won't damage anything. Massage the scalp until foam forms, then pull it down along the hair with your hand and gently massage it in. Important: do not wash hair extensions in circular motions. Rinse the shampoo thoroughly. Squeeze out excess water with a towel. Apply a mask or conditioner to the ends of the hair, rinse after 5 minutes, and squeeze out excess water again.

Drying hair extensions – remember this!

You can temporarily wrap your hair in a turban to absorb excess water. Remember, don't wear a turban all day – it harms hair, even natural hair. After removing the towel, we proceed to comb the damp strands. We recommend combing with a special brush for detangling hair extensions. Take small sections of hair, hold them close to the extensions, and gently pull the brush from top to bottom. Next, apply heat-protective spray conditioner to the ends. Then dry your head, moving the brush from the roots to the ends. Finish drying with a brush and hairdryer to achieve perfectly straight hair like from a salon.
